Anders was born on June 27th, 1863. Anders' father was Adolf Conrad Thelning and his mother was Sofia Andreasdotter. His paternal grandparents were Niklas Telning and Ingrid Eriksdotter. He had a brother named Johan. He was the older of the two children. He had five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Carl, Oscar, Viktor, Konrad, Erik, Anna and Klara.
